Reflecting on some story elements in Morningstar. Got me thinking about that line from Suicidal Tendencies song Institutionalized
“I’m crazy? When I went to your schools. When I went to your churches. When I went to your institutional learning facilities. Then how can you say I’m crazy?!”
We teach children that life is competative and the world is a hard place. We train them to be tough so they will survive, then we are surprised when humanity commits atrocities against one another.
It’s true, we live in a tough world, but maybe the answer is to transform the world. To create a less brutal place. A more collaborative place. An ecosystem in the truest sense of the word.
Some would say that’s impossible, but isn’t accomplishing the impossible, one of humanity’s specialties?
