WIRED 02 : 9x12 ink, colored pencil, acrylic on brisol board.

A colaboration w/ artist Karl Altstaetter, for his art show CABAL/VISUAL REMIX. I tried doing this as a digial painting first, but it came out as a horrible mess. I've been in love w/ the idea of doing my art completely digital, although the technology isn'y quite there (or affordable) for the way I work. Even though I've done some digital pieces that I feel are strong, this one didn't come together on the first pass, hence, WIRED 02. The sketch following the painting is what Karl gave me to start w/. This time, instead of scanning the sketch, I shrunk it down, and started blocking in shadows and grey tones w/ pen and acrylic. After that, I worked in the color w/ acrylic and pulled out some detail w/ colored pencil & whiteout. Even though I've done w/ my end, Karl may still scan it in and manipulate it a little more on computer. I'm happier w/ this version than what I gave him before but I still don't feel like I hit the mark.
