Vino + Eros: 30"x24" - Acrylic on canvas

It sucks that I don't have a really high quality digital camera. I wish I could show this to people online w/ the level of sharpness and detail that the painting has in real life. Anyways, I'm pretty happy w/ the way this one turned out. The only thing that bothered me was the wine. I was so consumed w/ making the figures look sensual that I didn't take into account that the wine might be interpeted as blood. I guess I was thinking in black and white until I started adding color. If it were blood being poured on the woman, that totally changes the context of the piece from something sexy to something dark and pervereted (which I don't have a problem w/ - that's just not what I intended).
Hopefully I can get some slides taken which I can scan in, so I can re-post this image in it's true glory. One of my roomates also pointed out that the black woman's face is a little manly. I didn't think so at first, but I can kinda see it, which also pisses me off, because I wanted her to look extra special sexy. Well, if I did everything perfect, I probably wouldn't be that interested in painting. Live and learn.
